Achieng Onguru

Achieng Onguru is a Social Media and Brand Experience enthusiast currently working at Safaricom’s E-commerce platform, Masoko. She has 8 years demonstrated experience in building brands and telling brand stories while offering her critical lens on all matters marketing and communication.

Having worked in different areas within brand marketing and communication and with different media, she has a keen interest in evolving ideas that are backed by data and insight. Considering the fast paced world we live in where consumers are approached by different advertisers daily, she understands the power of creativity and simplicity that makes brands stand out, memorable and ‘shareable’.

With a core interest in digital and social media, she has a well rounded experience with all other facets of marketing. These facets range from and are not limited to managing brand advertising, brand strategy, copywriting, events, activations and brand experience – giving a holistic approach to problem solving with the brands she has handled like Masoko, Kenya Power and Lighting Company and Kenya National Youth Service among others.

She has received various accolades for exemplary and impactful campaigns on digital and social media platforms ranging from Social Bakers Awards 2014 and Social Media Awards Africa 2015 to recently being named as part of the Top 25 Women in Digital in Kenya in 2018 by Digitalk.
