Noah Miller is a highly experienced communications advisor with a track record of providing strategic communications expertise to governments and assisting with capacity building strategies. In 2015 he founded Sochin Limited, an advisory firm that works with individuals and companies who need to solve complex challenges in communications, reputation management, and public policy.
Mr. Miller has a deep understanding of the role of communications at the center of government, particularly in the context of post-crisis states such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia and South Sudan. He believes that communications plays an important role in democracy building, destination branding, and attracting foreign direct investment.
From 2013-2014, he was a senior strategic communications advisor with Deloitte Consulting and was based in the Office of the President in South Sudan. While in Juba, Mr. Miller advised the highest-ranking member of the government during the sacking of cabinet in July 2013 and was able the realign the previously negative narrative portrayed in the media.
Prior to that, Mr. Miller was a strategic communications manager in the Prime Minister’s Office in Kuwait. He advised on strategies to improve the government’s communications with the international media and key opinion leaders. To this extent, he worked with officials from the Ministry of Information to promote the 2012 parliamentary elections, particularly among foreign journalists and in the digital media.
During three tours in Iraq, Mr. Miller served first as a public affairs officer and spokesperson for the Iraq Transition Assistance Office at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and then as a public affairs advisor to both the Iraqi Ministry of Interior and Defence.
Prior to entering the communications field, Mr. Miller worked in investment banking and was based in New York, London and Hong Kong.
His publication record includes peer-reviewed articles in academic journals, countless news releases and news stories, and statements given to the media. Mr. Miller has also appeared on numerous panel discussions, television, and is a published photographer.
Mr. Miller was educated at Babson College, The London School of Economics and Political Science, and Said Business School at the University of Oxford. He currently is a distinguished visiting faculty member at the Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communications in Nairobi.
